Sea charts and shelf

My charts in my LM27 were always in a mess in the front cabin after two days of sailing. I have made a shelf under the deck in the front cabin for all my nav. charts. It keeps them together .

That shelf does look uncannily like the cockpit table, though!

Hi Jan,

Your shelf doesn't appear to have a fiddle. How do you keep the charts in place when the boat is heeled?

Yes, the shelf is made of the old cabin table. I removed the folding table years ago, but could not bear to throw this peace of craftmanship away. Now it can be used again. The cards are fixed OK. In the front by the shape of the ship, sideway by the two bolts attached to the roof and rearward by a little peace of wood. (which in fact is a part of the old cabin roof hatch)
