I need to replace the two sliding windows on Ondine. Both sit in grooves. There doesne seem to be a way to remove them without sawing the frames off and then replacing them.Any experience out there on this one?
You do not need to saw the frames, you need to drop down the door, remove the screws hidden in the groove, undo the upper mounting screws on the stainless slider and pull gently in board out of the way, remove the screws securing the window groove timber all the way down then gently ease the timber to a point where the perspex can be removed. Has been a while since I replaced mine but just be patient and gentle and if you have to force anything then there is probably a screw that you have missed.
I am having the same problem as I need to get the perspex windows out so I can sort the faded sapele mini bulkheads on my LM28. I have been removing lots of screws but nothing moving yet. I also need to remove the drop door as ply not looking very good. I am hoping if I remove the top and bottom internal sections of hardwood it can be lifted out. Any thoughts.
