CHARLES - the Forum’s founder and administrator ‘retires’

Charles set up this Forum way back in 2011, and it’s down to his initiative and wise curation that it has developed into such a valuable resource for us all.
Sadly for us, Charles has now sold his LM27, ‘Marguerite’, to downsize and pursue a different type of sailing in some lesser marque.
Understandably, he’s also decided to step back from administering the LM Owners Forum. (I have been ‘volunteered’ to pick up administration duties, and I’ll do my best to maintain the high standard that Charles has set.)
Under Charles’ 8-year guardianship, an impressive 428 people have registered on the forum, and innumerable guests have also looked in. It is encouraging that some of the members who joined in the first months and years of the forum are still posting now, and that some of the most recently joined members have quickly become active participants.
There’s now a wealth of knowledge about LMs built up in the archives (though searching them does require a degree of persistence and ingenuity!), and this is being added to almost daily. Where else, for example, could you find out, as Charles himself researched and reported, that if you put 11 people in the cockpit of an LM27 with a self-drying cockpit it will start to backfill!
I am sure that forum users all greatly appreciate the opportunity Charles’ excellent creation gives us to share knowledge, problems and adventures, and would join me in thanking him for the time and effort he has put into setting up and maintaining it, and for his many comradely and encouraging contributions to discussions.
