Someone rammed into the back of my LM 30 and seriously bent the boarding ladder. I have removed it and the two lower fixings sprung apart and are twisted. So, quetion one. How likely is it that it can be bent back to fit? Q2. Is a new replacment available? Q3 As I have size 12 feet and can't get much of my feet on the steps, has anyone extendind the fixings to allow more space or Q4 put the ladder round the side of the stern?
I did have the drop down part extended with two extra steps to make boarding from the water easier.
Madsnedø Marinecenter in Vordingborg, Denmark still has a lot of spare parts. It is more than possible they can help you. Their web page is: mmc.dk They also speak english. If you want to go for something better than the original, little "climb-onboard-ladder" there arlots of solutions. I have mounted a bathing platform on my own LM27 with a ladder, folding and extending into the water, making it a super gadget for bathing, entering and so.
Thank you for that. I will try Denmark. I'm sure I have seen a photo of an LM with swim platform - probably yours. It would certainly be esier to get in and out of the kayaks.

In answer to some of my own questions after some research and after seeing just how bad was the damage
A.1 Three s/s fabricators have confirmed that it is virtually impossible to bend back into shape
and likely to leave even more kinks if attempted.
A2 Yes a new replacement is available from Denmark as per the address above. Cost is dk 6500 ( £ 650 ) plus
shipping to the UK £41.90
I'll have be as careful as before when climbing the ladder to make sure my big feet don't slip off the rungs.
Putting the ladder on one side would mean having to alter the pushpit so not really practical.
Thank you jandane. The LM 30 ladder has four fixing points with holes through the hull to take the bolts from the inside. I have ordered an original replacement from Masnedo which should arrive in a few days. A bit expensive but it will fit straight on and not leave me with holes to fill and won't need somewhere to stow it when not in use.
