I have recently acquired a 1985 built lm30, and the Stemhead fitting ,with only one roller and fairlead, and a nav light right in the centre looks like nightmare for handling the anchor; especially as I have to use that roller for my swinging mooring line. I would like to remove the pulpit/stemhead assembly and have a second fairlead/roller welded on but I can not see any sign of the attachment bolts for the rear of the pulpit. Can anyone please advise how the pulpit comes off? Also any advise on fitting a second roller and twin nav lights would be much appreciated . Thanks E E J D

On my 1983 LM32, the pulpit railing is bolted through the toe rail, and the nuts for the aft mounts can be accessed from within the v berth, at the top edge of the hull to deck joint. Take a measure from the forward edge of the v berth window to the aft rail and that'll put you in the right vicinity. You may have to peel back some carpeting if your forward berth hull walls are lined with carpet as mine are. I was able to get a socket onto my cleat bolts from that position, and I assume the pulpit rail bolts will be equally, but not easily accessible. I'll see if I can dig out a photo of my anchor roller and post same.
Brian Thank you for the advice, I have looked up from the vee berth with a torch, but not moved any carpet - I will try that and see what it reveals! Regards Edward

The carpet just curls over at the top edge, under the bottom of the deck, but above the dropped corner molding of the v berth ceiling. The dropped corner molding hides the nuts and bolts.
Thanks again Brian, I found the nuts right at the fwd end of the side lockers covered by a soft lining that need a little hole trimmed, The nuts came off quite easily!Regards Edward
