What I do know is the diameter is 16 inches . There are 17 splines. It is made of aluminium. It is for a 1984 lm 32. What I do not know so as to order a new prop is the pitch and whether the gear reduction is 2:1 or 3:1. Can anyone help. Thanks. Eddie

I can look at my spare prop next time at the boat to see if it has the pitch stamped on it; but assuming your engine is a Bukh DV36 SME, then the gear reduction is, according to the Bukh workshop manual: 2.25:1 for both forward and reverse.
There are various prop pitch calculators on the internet (e.g. castlemarine have one, but only works with some computer operating systems). But probably your best bet is to talk to a prop supplier, who will do a calculation for you, and deal with any other queries you might have.

Hello whitegate,
The diameter and pitch of the spare 3 bladed propeller that came with my 1983 LM32 with Bukh DV36SME, is: 16 x 11. The saildrive gear ratio is as I noted above, according to the Bukh workshop manual: 2.25:1 in both forward and reverse. I can post or send photos of this prop if you would like to see same.
I believe that this prop is identical to the one that is affixed to the saildrive now, but I have not done any direct comparison.
I don't know why my boat came with a spare propeller, and its conical locking nut etc. when I bought the boat in 2014. Unfortunately I don't know who the previous owner is, so I can't ask him/her. I'd like to believe that the previous owner was just 'being prepared' just in case he ever ran over a log or such, but it could be that a previous owner wasn't happy with the performance of one prop, so changed it to another.
