Hi. I am having extreme difficulty posting jpgs on this forum. I am aware there is a 1 mb limit per file so I sent an email to myself with 3 mb size files which I reduced to ~ 750 kb each. Tried to post these but the system would not accept resized files. This is strange as I have used this method in the past on this forum. Then took screenshots of the files which which came out at approx 800 kb. I also renamed the files and tried d to post these but system gave message that files were too big. I have also tried online resizing but could never locate files so gave up. Extremely frustrating.
Add Attachment: If the forum staff has attachments enabled, you will see this button on the posting page. After you click the Add Attachment button, a new window will pop up letting you know how many files you can upload at a time, along with what the file size limit per attachment is. To attach a file, click the + Add Files... button, and then choose a file that you would like to upload from the Browse window that pops up. Once you choose a file, you will see a progress bar for the attachment that is uploading.
Once the attachment has been made, you can use the Insert button to have the attachment appear inline within your post, or you can use the Delete button if you decide against adding an attachment. Otherwise, you can click the Done button found at the bottom of the pop-up window and your attachment file will appear at the very end of your post after your thread has been made.
Alternatively if you click on 'REPLY' at the right margin of an post, instead of the 'Quick Reply' button at the left margin of a post, it pops up both an icon for 'Add Attachment' and a string of icons, of which one of those icons (seventh from right) bears a crude image of a scenic picture which when clicked on, allows one to 'Insert Image'.
I'm not sure how this turns up if you're creating a new thread and want to add a picture ... I'd have to look that up.
I typically do what I believe you have already tried ... mail myself the image and ask MS Outlook to reduce the image size for the send. I then Save the reduced size image to my hard drive and link to that image when posting.
One thing that doesn't work with images is copy/paste. You are uploading the image files, up to 3 at a time and each under 1mb.
Use the Add Attachment button, rather than Insert Image. A box appears, and you then browse to images and click to select. Then click again to upload. I create an upload folder and put the re-sized images there as a 1st step.
When I'm creating a post, I compose the text in Word, and when complete, paste the new text on the Board.
Hi Chris, I guess there is an additional problem. When I tried to insert a small picture I received an error notification which reads „Error: This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit. Your file cannot be uploaded“. I made a nice screenshot but cannot attach for the same reason. ;-) Please check… Thanks, Andreas
Apologies to all for the problems in uploading images.
It does appear that the LM Owners Forum has run out of attachment space. Solving this (without deleting all the existing images!) is proving a challenge for various reasons.
Please bear with us, and the ability to post image will be resumed (I hope!) as soon as possible.
We are looking for a solution to the current inability to post images.
In the meantime you can show images if they are hosted elsewhere, and you put a link to them in your post. (Note such images will disappear from the forum if you subsequently remove the images from the host site, or close your account there.)
