Got to take the prop (Brunton Autoprop) off to replace a rope cutter blade and anode. I know the prop turns anti-clockwise seen from aft, but does that mean the bolt securing the prop undoes clockwise?
I removed the 3 bladed aluminium prop from my DV36SME saildrive. The conical section has conventional thread in that it uncrews anticlockwise when viewed from the stern. Be aware that there is a small hex drive machine screw which locks the conical section in place. It is also conventional thread.
Thanks. My autoprop doesn't have a cone (well, it should have, but it's a zinc anode and all gone over the course of this season) but the thread on my saildrive shaft will be the same as yours. This week's job is winterising the donk and replacing oil and various filters. Then l'll tackle the prop and ropecutter.
