Dear All, I am trying to figure which should be the pipe path of the manual bilge pump originally fitted in the LM30; looking to the owner manual I see it was bolted inside the starboard locker, the outlet is clear, the 1 1/4" valve at the boat stern, the inlet just shows the pipe goes down through the locker bottom and…?
The problem is that the boat I bought has the manual membrane bilge pump (a widely used Mk V) stern mounted port side and an additional Mk V membrane pump, e/motor driven, piped in serie, ) still stern mounted but starboard side and a looong inlet pipe that goes from the stern motor pump to the dinette pot, the one under the step.
I don’t like such a long pipe running along half of the boat but the deepest suction point is definitely the dinette pot.
Has anyone mounted the pump and related pipes differently or has any welcome suggestion? Have you the inlet pipe running on the bottom or hooked just under the stern lockers?
I have had a look at my manual bilge pump on Lone Star which is 1986 LM30.
The pump is in the Port Aft locker and pipe is routed down the port side of the engine compartment and ends up under the floor just before the table in the saloon.
I also have an electric pump which goes to the same place but is separate to the manual one - I think.
