The bootom of my self furler on my LM30 got bent in the yard over the winter. The opening for the rope is now jammed forward. Does anyone have any photos that they could send me so I can undo the grub screw and re set it up in the correct maner. Many thanks.
In order to assist I think we may require some pictures of your bent furler. Mainsail furling was not a standard fit on the LM30 and there are many different systems in use. Do you know the manufacturer? Someone is bound to have the same system and will be able to offer specific advice
In general, however, in order to free the jammed mechanism, it will be necessary to release the connection at the top of the furler and ease the downward pressure on it by lifting the mandrill and the sail, which is still furled around it, not an easy task. You may have to resort to levering it upward from the furler opening somehow as the sail insertion slot will be full with furled sail, however, once free from he furler you may be able to raise it slightly using the main halyard, you don't need to lift it very much, a centimeter or two should do. The furler must sit on some sort of bearing and this must have become displaced from it's usual position. We need that picture.

Thank you for your advice much appreciated. My boat is on a river mooring and I won't be able to get out until midweek. I will try and free it in the way you have described and if that does not work I will send you a couple of images. Thanks again. Regards, Michael
