Hi, I’ve looked at several LM27s and they all seem to have issues with the fixing points.. the boat I’m interested in is a 1982 model the deck where the front inners are fixed appears to be raised even tho there is no cracking..advise sought as to this please..
I think this may be a known issue as I have seen photos of a couple of boat where stainless steel tie bars have been added to bring the load down inside the cabin to the forward bulkhead.
According to the LM24/Lm27 rig guidance (also on this forum), the aft lowers should be under little tension, it is the forward lowers that could/should be under significant tension, in order to achieve the appropriate mast bend for the conditions.
Paradoxically, my own LM27 has had tie bars added to the aft lowers by a previous owner, but not the forward ones (which are trickier to do neatly).
