Sailmakers will usually have the templates for most common sail insignias, but whether any particular sailmaker has the one for the Scanyacht you would have to ask. If all else fails they should be able to make a close approximation from the drawing below.
Sailmakers will also be able to provide (and attach) the sail numbers, but you would have to advise them the appropriate number. You may also find sail numbers on, e.g., e-bay, and glue or sew them on yourself.
By the way, I would be very interested to see some photos of the bow extension/roller on a Scanyacht 290 if you were able to provide them. I've not seen one close up, and I would be particularly interested in a close side view, a top view, and a view of the internal side fittings which are presumably inside the anchor locker.
I have had good results using stick on material usually available from your local chandlery (or on ebay). Wash the area first to remove salt deposits and degrease with meths. Mine stuck really well and it's an in-mast roller mainsail.
Sail number? I thought they only made six 290s!

Mick

We have a new mainsail and would like to stick the LM27 logo on. I think a template would be quite easy to make myself from the logo on the old sail. What type of material did you use and where did you buy it from?
I bought my sail logo material from Marine Superstore but it was a long time ago. it's a sort of stick back plastic. You need to have the sail on a flat surface clean off all the salt, dry and then smooth out all the wrinkles. No heat is required but you need to make sure it's all stuck well by rubbing it all over and leave overnight before you bag it up or fold it.
Hello Mick, thanks for this advice. My sailmakers let me have some sticky material for free, which was brilliant. I made a template from the logo on my old sail and it turned out really well. It took me several hours though to get it right on both sides of the new sail, but was worth it!
